Turtle - 04:58

In the warm summer sun,
she sets her sights,
On a stretch of sand under moonlit nights,
With a heart full of hope
and a shell that's worn,
She's headed for a place
where new life is born.

Oh the turtle’s on a journey,
so much miles to go,
Through the waves and the tides,
and the ebb and flow.
With the dream in her heart and
the little stars up high.
Her digging’s done, done, done.
A nest under a southern sky.

Through the fields of seagrass
and coral beds,
She remembers the paths that
her mother tread,
With every stroke of her flippers wide,
She’s guided by the whispers of
the ocean’s tide.

Oh the turtle’s on a journey,
so much miles to go,
Through the waves and the tides,
and the ebb and flow.
With the dream in her heart
and the little stars up high.
Her digging’s done, done, done.
A nest under a southern sky.

We been so long, on this road.
We gotta quick ride on a train, babe!
Pop that dream, keep digging.
We gotta hope we can be monsters!
Welcome to the future.
Howdy y’all!

There’s a song in the waves
and the wind tonight.
A melody of nature, pure and bright.
She’ll find her way, she knows it’s right.
To a haven where her young
will take their flight.

Oh the turtle’s on a journey,
so much miles to go,
Through the waves and the tides,
and the ebb and flow.
With the dream in her heart and
the little stars up high.
Her digging’s done, done, done.
A nest under a southern sky.

In the soft morning light, her work is done.
She turns back to the sea with the rising sun.
With a promise of life and a tear in her eye.
She leaves her love under that country sky.
